Jessica Aimee has been involved in music and singing since middle school. A former Talented Music student who played trombone in the band, she was a member of several All-State and District Honor Choirs. Her love of music has also seen her extend her vocal talents to musicals such as Maria in West Side Story and Jack's Mother in Into the Woods. She is a junior at Southeastern Louisiana University majoring in Vocal Music Education and regularly participates in NATS Vocal Competitions. She placed 2nd in the State NATS for Spring 2023. Jessica has expanded her vocal and musical skills to opera and sang the title role in "Evangeline."
Elizabeth started her love of performing 26 years ago when she played Nancy in Oliver. She has been in numerous shows since the age of 14--even winning a Best Supporting Actress Arty award for her six roles in Wonder of the World in CA! Elizabeth graduated from an intensive two-year actors training program that included scene study, movement/dance, combat, and vocal study. She loves the stage and feels the happiest when she is performing. Elizabeth has a bachelor's in mass communications and journalism and a master's in public relations. She is a Clinical Project Specialist for a Home Health and Hospice Corporation. Elizabeth taught kids acting and musical theatre at Swamplight Theatre last year and is excited for this upcoming semester. She loves her students and felt immense happiness at the opportunity to inspire and foster their love of the performing arts. Her favorite role ever is Mom to her sweet boy, Reign.
Kendel Smith is a native of New Orleans and grew up on the North Shore in Waldheim. He is an Alumni of SLU where he received his BFA in Theatre. After graduating, he moved to New York City and continued his education at NYU Tisch in Performing Arts and Healthcare. He was a member of the Love Creek Theatre Company. He was seen Off-Broadway regularly where he originated the roles of Chase in Vito at the Beach, Marlene in Drag Queens on Trial and Igel Vesty in Mask. He toured, three times in Pump Boys and Dinettes playing each of the male roles. He also toured in Equus as Alan and as Mark in Baby. He played numerous roles in summer stock theatre at Gateway Playhouse and Theatre in the Catskills. He was a performer at Wigstock for over 25 years. He moved to Berlin in 2010 for 18 months where he designed costumes and sets for Bohème Sauvage and embraced the Bohemian lifestyle. He moved back to the area in 2015 where he, Barbie Butler Vallot, his long-time partner in crime, along with Kit Friedrichs, Richard Beaugh, and Dr. Robert Butler opened the Swamplight Theatre and The Kay Butler Performing Arts Project, a non-profit performing arts school in Ponchatoula. He is the Artistic Director with KBPAP.
