Amelia Norman (Ensemble) is delighted to be on the Swamplight stage for her first official production. She is six years old and has taken theatre, dance, and choir at Swamplight for the last three years. She is thankful for the opportunity to be the youngest cast member of Footloose. Amelia lives in Ponchatoula and is going into 1st grade at St. Joseph’s. Amelia loves playing outside with all the girls in her neighborhood when not at the theatre. Amelia’s parents are Michael and Kerrie Norman. She wants to thank her family and friends for their support, especially her big sister, Avery.
Avery Norman (Ensemble) is thrilled to be on the Swamplight stage for her second official production. She is nine years old and has taken theatre, dance, and choir at Swamplight for the last four years. Avery played an orphan and pickpocket in “Oliver” last summer and is happy to be back at the theatre performing in FOOTLOOSE. Avery lives in Ponchatoula and is going into 4th grade at St. Joseph’s, where she is a new member of the school choir. In her free time, Avery enjoys riding her bike, hoverboarding, and playing with her little sister, Amelia. Avery’s parents are Michael and Kerrie Norman. She wants to thank her family and friends for supporting her love of performing.
Carter Cortez (Betty Blast) is 17 and has been with Swamplight for seven years. She attends Ponchatoula High School and participates in theatre there as well. She is excited about this show and working with this cast and crew. This show has a little something extra special as this is the first time she is doing a play with both of her parents.
Danalyn LeBlanc (Eleanor Dunbar) lives in Ponchatoula, La. She spent her teen years performing in her high school theatre program. From there, she gained a background in cosmetology and was part of a local singing group for three years. She has since devoted her talents to raising her family and helping out at Swamplight Theatre, home of the Kay Butler Performing Arts Project. Her most notable roles at Swamplight Theatre include Swamplight’s Cabaret productions, and Annelle, in the production of Steel Magnolias.
Eric Aymond (Coach Dunbar) is a native of Ponchatoula and currently resides in Hammond. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Management and his MBA from Southeastern Louisiana University. He has worked at SLU for the last 16 years and is the Director of Recreational Sports & Wellness. Eric and his beautiful wife, Melissa, have been married for 14 years and have three amazing children; Rebekah, Cooper, and Rachel. Eric made his theatrical debut as Brom Bones in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. His hobbies include weightlifting and sports, singing with his wife, playing with his children, watching and quoting movies, and cooking new recipes in the kitchen.
Hadassah Patterson (Ariel) is 15 years old and has been a Swamplight student for over six years. Her first show was Hairspray as Lil Inez, and she was seen most recently as Princess Tiana in the Teddy Bear Tea. She is proud of the help she has been able to give assisting classes and interning at summer camp, and she is grateful to have met so many amazing people at Swamplight. Ariel Moore will be her biggest role to date and the first role with a love interest. She is glad to be doing this show with familiar and new faces and is thankful to the directors for giving her this opportunity.
Harmony Wood (Rusty) is a 16-year-old from Ponchatoula. She is going into her junior year at Ponchatoula High. She has been in many other productions including Sleepy Hallow as Katrina, Clue as Miss Scarlet, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as Narrator. She is so excited to play Rusty in Footloose and is grateful for the opportunity! She would like to especially thank Kendel Smith and Wendy Saverino for giving her this opportunity and supporting her.
Ivan Janis (Principal Harry Clark) is excited to be working with Swamplight again after having played Sergeant Williams in Tracers and Boo Radley in To Kill a Mockingbird. Ivan is a construction superintendent by day who got involved in Swamplight through his children. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, horses, and all things outdoors.
